I think a lot—some say too much. Behold the results… a collection of my random, scattered thoughts. Pardon the dust, I'm tinkering with the layout in my spare time.

Danc has posted a great deck about productivity in the workplace, detailing “the idiocy of prolonged overtime” and “the unintuitive connection between doing more and making better products.” I couldn’t agree more.

I often fall prey to the cognitive bias mentioned in the deck, feeling like I come off as slack whenever I talk about hours worked and how they affect creativity. It’s a very difficult subject and a fine line to walk as a designer who has largely only worked for small, cash-strapped, deadline driven companies/start-ups: You want the time to recharge your creative juices and to fully flesh out the best solutions, but you also have bosses/investors/company-wellbeing to answer to. It’s a difficult place, balancing getting things right, not burning out, and delivering fast enough to keep the company coffers full (in order to receive a paycheque).
